Why do many American men refer to their wife's as their "boss"?

This is one thing that I absolutely can't understand about American culture, it seems to be done in some sort of humour but I just find it so bizarre. I would think that most English women (or women of other countries) would find it particularly creepy and uncomfortable if their husband or partner referred to them as that.

How are any of those things relevant to a matriarchy? One's a dumb reality show about women (granted, not many men wear one) buying wedding dresses, one's a bit weird granted and one's a tradition that's gone on since Medieval times - nothing to do with America at all.

I haven't heard America called a "matriarchy" since Terry-Thomas in It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World! Good to know old cliches are hanging in there.

That's not a matriarchy, just an unhealthy marriage.

Third wave feminism and social justice warriors have really been detrimental to males, especially boys and young men. Toxic masculinity? White male privilege? Pfft.
It begat Adam Lanza. And Ed Gein. Ed Kemper. Ted Bundy.
Boys need strong, masculine role models; fathers, uncles, grandfathers etc.
Single mothers using the state as a surrogate father/provider is devastating to the development of healthy young men.
Virtually all serial killers and mass shooters come from fatherless homes.
Without a firm masculine hand, boys will either become reclusive and immerse themselves in video games and porn, or they will seek out proxies like gangs for masculine guidance.

I know you're married, but I'm giving you a healthy dose of guilt by association with redpill incels for that tosh.

No, it's not bullshit. It's fact and if you have a shred of intellectual honesty, you'll admit that.

Seriously, disprove the fact the most serial killers/mass shooters come from fatherless homes.

Psycho is based on Ed Gein and his relationship with his mother. Keeping her dead body etc.

You're being blinded by PC ideology. Yes, I'm married. My wife spent a lot of time in Chicago and New York in a narcissistic, very left wing community. Feminism and identity politics. She's extremely put-off by that scene now. Shallow, empty, soulless. (And neither of us are religious.)
