Re: Who's supposed to be working...
My shift is 8 hours long, but only have about 2-2 1/2 hours of actual work, the rest of the shift is sitting and doing nothing unless the phone rings or someone comes in, which is rare.
So I have a good chunk of free time.

Sounds like the only thing doing overtime will be the kettle

I work alone at home, so look upon quick visits to BE throughout the day as the "chat around the water cooler" for the self-employed!

I am working. Just about everything I do is on the computer so I can fire off my posts while waiting for a report to run or something to refresh or print.

I spend far too much time on here, but don't post as often as I used too.

I can vaguely recall what work used to be, so no I am not meant to be doingany. I fit BE in around other exciting tasks such as today replacing the inner workings of a toilet tank.

I'm checking in every now and again in between work efforts. But on the road i enjoy annoying shinny raised bed truck drivers compensating for small penises with So Cal and Got Sand stickers all over their trucks while driving in Arizona.

Why else would I disappear on weekends?
Much like SoS, everything I do is on this computer and somethings take time. I'm sure there's more productive things I could be doing, but since when was productivity enjoyable?
