While driving down Hardy Street in Hattiesburg, MS yesterday, I encountered a huge Ford 150 red truck with the license plate "UK DOG". The truck was about to turn onto the entrance way to highway 49 so didn't have an opportunity to see the driver.

Don't recall any BE members living this is area so don't expect anyone to come forward.

Could have been an alumnus of University of Kentucky - most "UKs" I see on vehicles here are linked to Kentucky not the United Kingdom.

Yep. I have UK DUUDE on mine. I've already had 2 people reference the University of Kentucky. I guess I didn't think it through properly.

2 U's because, 1, one U was taken, 2 because everyone in California including my wife say duude. And yes, it is a little passé, I got the plate partly as a piss take as I hate it when the wife calls me dude.

Whats a MANUFAN they ask? I tell them its an old Gaelic word for Peace To All.

My truck has a "British" tag, the one I had on my Alfa in the UK, so A123 BCD format, and only one person has ever commented on it ...... they asked if I was a pilot?

On the subject of 'tags' of which I'm not a fan, but anyway!

I remember a UK number plate BMW 528 X or very similar, and it was on a BMW528.

Now why would you pay god knows how much money to tell people that your car is in fact the same as the badge that came free with the car??

I owned a car once with the plate C609SBD, which my previous wife thought was very relevant! (think about it)

I own the plate DAVE S (Texas) as my surname starts with an S. I was absolutely stunned I was able to get it and at $150 odd for the year I thought it was an absolute steal! Now we've moved to Florida I am likely to go back to a normal license plate, All variants of Dave or David are not available

In the UK, my parents had ELA55Y and the dealership had missed the fact they had CLA55Y and let it go on a Fiesta without charging a premium for it!!
