Where can one buy mincemeat?
Hello!
A quick question from the missus (she's too lazy to register!). We've got the rellies coming over for xmas, and we want to make mince pies. Anyone got any idea where we can get some mincemeat? We're in Marin, CA.
Thanks a bunch!

Most supermarkets have them around this time of the year.

If the relies are coming over from the UK, I would suggest they bring the mince pies with them. I was in World Market at the weekend and half a dozen Mr. Kipling mince pies were $6.99.

Pretty easy, I used Delia's recipe. It was like this one http://www.deliaonline.com/cookery-s...eat,67,AR.html but without the cranberries. I bothered to buy suet from a butcher's dept of a supermarket but I guess you could use some other fat.

I know it's across the GG but they usually have lots of stuff you can't find anywhere else! Whilst you're in the area you could also go to the chippy (Piccadilly fish and chips) on Polk street, its just a few blocks down.
