There is an unofficial record for lapping the M25, and I believe it got down to an hour about 20 years ago. For 117 miles that means doing large chunks of the distance at 130+ mph.
From what I heard, the police were pleased when it got up into that territory because it meant only those with Ferraris and Lambourginis, or similar, could try to break the record. Prior to that you had idiots in XR3i's trying to crack it!
The Cambridgeshire police used to have a couple of 944's for patrolling the M11.

5th? Not bad, I suppose. Maybe try for a higher placed finish next time.
I bet there were a lot of guys on motorbikes having a go as well.
That still just sounds like fun to me
I'm sure they just hated that ...

Because it makes it easier to catch people speeding, rather than to put them off. Cash cow.

But they (the public) won't allow speed camera, I don't know what the difference is

Politics-free thread. Let's keep it that way, eh? There are too blessed few of them around here these days.
How bloody fast can a radar gun go, anyway?
Also, how would you ride one?

You haven't been watching APD or seen robocop. I was imagining he/she would run with the gun in his hand.

Now, if only the police would start fitting Boadicea wheel attachments ...
I know, happens to me too. We're just doing so well with this one
