Still not seen the former, but like the latter and thought it picked up a bit more pace in the second episode and the potential back story could be fun. Love the costumes.

Just watched "A Very British Problem" on US netflix tonight. I think a lot of BEers could relate to it.

well it's not UK but... on Netflix there is "No Second Chance" - it's french with subtitles. It has had me howling with laughter! The story is about a woman trying to find her kidnapped baby and the ineptitude of the police is worthy of the great Clouseau himself. The ending was so french and so unlikely that I almost cried with laughing.

Rather liked the new Sherlock. Three episode series.

Also liked the Christmas special of the British Bake Off, as daft as it was.

The Roald Dahl, special was also quite cute.

We still have a fair bit to see from the specials.

New series of Silent Witness started last night, and a new series, The Halcyon , recorded both, still to watch either though. The Halcyon is set during WW2, been said to be a worthy rival to Downton Abbey.

The Jonathon Creek, special was quite fun.

Grantchester and Endeavour are coming back too, which is exciting.

Any quiz junkies?

I've been a fan of The Chase and Pointless for some time and download them daily. There has been a few pretenders that have caught my interest like The Code and Two Tribes that have lasted one or two runs.

The latest is a fun quiz called Impossible where each question has three answers, one right, one wrong and one impossible (example, when is Harry Potter's Birthday, May 31st, June 31st or July 31st? July 31st is correct, May 31st is the wrong one and June 31st is impossible as June only has 30 days!) Get the right answer for a point, wrong answer to stay in the game and impossible to go out altogether.

Well worth a look if you like a good quiz.

Pointless is the one for me. Sometimes an episode of Eggheads.

We watched the first... Found it to be "ok" but a bit of a long slog. I just last night noticed season 2 is on Netflix.. is the pacing any better?

Yes, but it's pretty much a straight follow on to the first series. It weren't bad, but took a few episodes to get into it if you didn't see repeats of the first series.

I think I'll wait a couple episodes and binge them if this has a bit of a slow start.

Anyone catch Prime Suspect 1973?

A couple of episodes in I think. Jane Tennison, as a new cop.

Yes, it's looking good, and at least, for a prequel, it has been written by Lynda La Plante.
