The Mill

It's back for a second series....historical drama, about the mills....first series was really depressing though.

Monty Python Live (Mostly) at the O2 was shown live on Gold last night. I found a torrent for it, but I also understand that it will be rebroadcast on the 22nd in its entirety. Apparently there were a couple of close-to-the-line sketches that were edited out last night and the later showing will have it all.

I am enjoying Peaky Blinders, its six months old or so now, so I suppose most people here will have seen it already if they have an interest, but it flew under my radar. Not the greatest writing or acting if truth be told, but it is a welcome genre, and succeeds despite some weaknesses. Nice to see working class (no matter how romanticized and fictionalized) environments in the late/post Edwardian Era. Makes a change from your Downton Abbeys.

I liked it, but it dragged on a bit in the middle of the series.

It's coming back for a second series though.

I've enjoyed the recent series of Masterchef and Celebrity Masterchef. Just goes to prove just how much better at these things we are compared to the sensationalizing Yanks!

It's good, but ssslllloooowwwwww. Could have made it into 3 episodes instead.

I believe it's showing on the Sundance channel here if anyone has that.

I gave that a miss because it didn't sound all that good...so worth a punt? Does it really need to be a 8 parter?

I like it, but I get the impression that you like your action Bob, The show does as toopie28 suggests, like to build the tension over time.

I don't mind the slow burns, but sometimes, some shows just seem to drag on for the sake of it with filler stuff.

I wasn't really sure what this was about though as the description when it started was a little vague.

If you can binge watch - worth it. Does not need to be an 8 parter but then neither did Broadchurch imo, so...
