The teenage SOBs got me again...
Not as bad though, I replaced the wood 4x4 they drove over last time with a 3/8" wall 4" O.D. steel pipe set in two feet of concrete. I think it made them mad, they threw my bench in the woods! They did smash up the box, but a buddy of mine had a new one he wasn't using so he gave it to me. So now I'm good to go. Until next time...

It should be easy to find them if they drove their vehicle into a steel pipe set in concrete

Re: The teenage SOBs got me again...
Actually, twice in the five years I've been living here isn't bad. I know people who have one smashed and a week after it's replaced it gets smashed again. They, undestandably, are ready to murder after replacing 4-5 mailboxes... There's a guy here locally who build special mailboxes out of heavy guage steel. He does a pretty good business.

Oh noes!
Don't end up like that guy on CSI; I think he got manslaughter.
Hal says he built the removable mailbox after his was smashed several times. Nicky follows a path of concrete stepping stones to one that looks brand new and gets an officer to help him lift it. Underneath is Hal's former mailbox, which he filled with concrete. Under questioning, Hal admits he was tired of the kids smashing his mailboxes and decided to teach them a lesson by filling one with concrete. He remorsefully says he didn't know that it would cause Chase to veer off the road and smash into a tree, killing both kids.
Woulda Coulda Shoulda
edit: omg, prophetic after post #9!!!
