I've just realized Patty's day IS a thing! It's different to Paddy's day. Patty's day for some reason seems to be associated with 4 leaf clovers!

Think yourselves lucky, we have it twice here in State College. As the university carefully plan spring break to coincide with 17th March the students celebrate early to make sure they don't miss out, so we have State Patty's Day and St Patrick's Day. 50,000 inebriated students make driving downtown quite tricky!
