Yes, most were pretty bad - one looked like the flag of a Banana republic.

But I thought the "green-for-blue" one didn't look bad at all.

Im scottish and its been interesting reading through the posts.Firstly the visas to travel USA ,not really top of the independence agenda.1000s of yanks holiday in Scotland for golf and tracing roots. Also Scotland is an oil producing country ,USA needs oil so cant see problems there. The point being missed here is the UK political system is broken ,its not working ,at least for Scotland .In the London parliment we have a tory government lead by Eton schoolboys whom were NOT voted for by the people of Scotland and never are !The scottish government are doing a much better job of it.Independence will have its problems but its the only way forward, staying within the union means years of cuts and stagnation and we already have the t-shirt!

I disagree, without Scotland and Wales Labour wouldn't be competitive.

Ulsterman, my point is there is only 1 tory MP in Scotland (out of 59),David Mundell and Labour is pretty much the same as the tories now ,they used to be for the working people, now will kiss ass to anyone to win votes.

If Scotland votes for independence, things look much better for the tories in UK elections.

I lived in Northern Ireland most of my life, Scotland has 1 more Tory MP than Northern Ireland does, in fact Scotland has more Tory MPs than Northern Ireland has MPs from any of the main UK parties but I don't wine and moan about it, I am still a committed unionist.

Any idea how much UK crude the US imports? Or what the trend has been/is expected to be for total US imports, and for imports from the UK? That particular hammer may not be as heavy as you seem to think.

At the moment, yes. How about last time round, with Blair, Brown etc?

He also neglects to say that there are a few Liberal Democrats elected in Scotland too.

Without Scottish Labour MPs there would have been, if I remember correctly, only a couple of Labour governments between WWII and Tony Blair's government.

So - I have a question for you. Keep in mind when I ask you this - I am not from the UK. But my husband is and he is from Northern Ireland. From a town that is largely populated by folks with a Catholic background. But my husband lived in a neighborhood with red, white and blue curbs.

What do you say about this. The Good Friday agreement declares that anyone living in the North is entitled to a family life. The Good Friday agreement also says that anyone living in the North can call themselves Irish, British or both.

But....the British government refuses to let someone call themselves Irish if they want to bring a family member into the UK via EU law. The British government tells these dual Irish/British citizens that if they are born in Northern Ireland, then they are only British.

What do you think of a government that makes an agreement out of one side of its mouth, then violates it out of the other side? And isn't this kind of thing one reason the Scots are fed up?
