Well if you are stupid enough to believe that then your stupid enough to believe saying the Pledge of Allegiance is a threat to democracy and makes those who say it a bunch of ditto heads.

I'm not the kant here

I can see both sides of the argument so who is right or who is wrong or are they both right or wrong.
At the end of the day its an 11 year old child who will go on to change her mind about many things and one week she will want to be a doctor, the next month a lawyer and god forbid the next month a stripper.
Its what children do and they drive us mad. Sometimes we can reason with them and other times we can't. One step at a time.

At least some strippers have no problem in reciting the pledge of allegiance

What's the consensus on child preachers?

I've always found it to be creepy but a lot of people think it's just hunky dory. They're old enough to know their own mind, etc.

I never quite understand this kind of statement.

Yes, living in the US means she probably has all the comforts and necessities of life but there are plenty of countries out there just as great to be brought up in. Why would traveling "abroad" open her eyes. It probably will, but not in a bad way.

There is no "best country in the world" they all have their own problems.

If you want to concentrate on the negatives then yes the US does have it's share of problems but on the other hand there's plenty of opportunity to better one's self. How many times have I heard immigrants, Mexicans especially say how poor their grand parents were when they came here years ago to work in citrus orchards and today their kids and grandkids are police officers, firefighters, lawyers, doctors, politicians. I can vouch for that when I came here from the UK over 40 years ago with 600 dollars in my pocket and today I own a large home, financially very comfortably off and with a secure retirement. America has been good to me and I've also found that in general Americans are very friendly hospitable people always ready and willing to lend a hand or help out where needed. If people want to sit out the national anthem or the Pledge and offend those who do not then I'm not one of them

It certainly will. As Mark Twain said:

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

Doesn't sound too bad if you ask me.

That only covers the content of the post, they should still be able to use the quote tags properly

Try a stop off in the slum section of Manila or Rio. An eye opener if ever there was one.
