He did but I wouldn't be surprised if he was asked why he did try that one.

There didn't appear to be as big a crosswind component as I've seen on other videos (some where the plane is crabbing at an angle of 30° to the runway). The real risk would have been windshear but not knowing the actual weather conditions on that day, it's hard to know if there was any real reason for a go-around.

Agree with you Sultan, I've seen far worse. Anyone who saw the approach to the old Kai-tak in a crosswind knows it can get alot hairier!

The pilot appeared to have that approach pretty well down.

Ah, the checkerboard at Kai-Tak, now there's an approach that was hairy even in perfect conditions

Even flying into SFO, the plane was getting a bit wobbly and that was on a nice day. I was on a Dash-8 heading into Belfast City one time and we were blowing around like a paper bag. That one was fun.

Gibraltar on the wrong day can bite pretty hard too.

I think it's being by the sea that does it.

Nope, it's that bloody great piece of rock next to the runway
(windshear)

Wreckage, possibly from the missing Malaysian Airlines MH 370, has washed up on the Island of Le Reunion, off of the Coast of Madagascar.

CNN has brought their "Avaiation Correspondent" Richard Quest in......to argue with those who know a whole lot more about Planes....as opposed to his BS Opinion.

Kind of starting to sound like this piece might actually be from a 777. Obviously only time will tell, and Boeing should be able to identify if it is from a Boeing.

Not as out there as some of the other reports over the past year.

Jim
CNN expert probably heard "airplane" and "Madagascar" and thought of this...

CNN are reporting that a "Source at Boeing" says a component number of the Flap corresponds with a 777 Part Number.
