Same to you. Our Canadian flag is hanging outside our apartment window. On July 4th, the US flag will take its place.
Jim just said this is the first Canada Day he has spent outside of Canada in since 1994. He misses the hoopla thrown in the Capital.

You are too late. Canadia Day aka Victoria Day is celebrated in Canadia on the Monday
prior to May 25th each year. Victoria, empress of the United Kingdom of Canadia was
born on 24 May 1819. She ruled until her death in 1901 when her son Edward the VII
became dictator of Canadia.

Victoria Day and Canada Day are not the same celebratorym dates.
Victoria Day this year was Monday, May 21st, and is thought of in terms of the start of summer such as our Memorial Day here in the States is. It the day most people go up to open their summer cottages.
July 1st is the day Canada's celebrates its country's 'independence" much as the US's July 4th. They celebrate it nationally (with the exception of large celebratory events in Quebec provinces) with fireworks, activites, picnics, etc. In the Quebec provinces the huge celebratory activities are reserved for St. Baptiste Day.

I'm in the process of putting up another flag pole right next to the US one in my
front yard. Now if I could only find a Canadian flag that's not too expensive, that's
where it will go.

They were cancelled due to the fog, but they're on for tonight! It's just kind of
exciting for me to be sharing a part of my husbands culture with him......
