That article is referencing a US study, not the Oxford and Cardiff Uni. study the Mail is claiming as its source. Haven't found any respectable publication mentioning the Oxford and Cardiff study , yet.
There is this paper from Oxford and UCL published in 2017, claiming even moderate drinking leads to cognitive damage.

I was merely pointing out that the results were pretty much exact opposites.

That's my point in the OP, namely that 1 study will come out and say such and such food is bad for you, then a few years later another study says no that food is good for you. Then some study will again say it is bad for you. Studies contradict themselves a fair bit.

Phew...due to acid reflux...I can’t drink wine. Thank goodness I only drink Grand Mariner.
Seriously...if you believed all the crap you read almost everyday you would never get out of bed in the morning. But wait...staying in bed will kill you due to blood clots etc.
My father never drank or smoked...he was just 32 when he died. My mum liked a drop of whiskey in the evening...she also loved a ciggie. Her diet wasn’t good...it wasn’t full of fruit and veggies. She died just before her 90th birthday. My MIL didn’t drink or smoke...she was a veggie...she is 91 but we don’t think she will reach 92.
So...everything in moderation..and much depends on your genes.

half a glass?? Pfft - effing bunch of light weights .... it takes a few bottles where I am at risk of dementia for the night ...........
I moderately recall a time where I wore depends under my jeans -- and that was only for a bladder buster night 20-odd years ago ......

I hate jeans. I use bleach with all my clothes, so the bloody jeans always ends up whitish. And most brands end up being stiff after washing, even if I just lightly dry them.
So I just stick to cotton Khakis.
