Default Living in NYC

Hi all.
Does anyone have any advise on places to rent in NYC? Preferably, min 2 bed house no longer than 30 min drive to/from JFK.
So far looked at ridgewood and Carle place.
Thanks

When you say drive, do you actually mean driving there or can 30 mins include the subway?

Also do you have a budget?

On recent experience a 30 minute drive to/from JFK means about half a mile.

For me one of the attractions of NYC is that there is a functioning Mass Transit System. You can live there without having a car !

My first post here.

30 mins from JFK leaves plenty of options. The biggest factor in narrowing the search is the budget you have for rent etc.
Kew Gardens and Forest Hills are great, but pricey. Ozone Park is more affordable, so too is Howard Beach. You might want to give South Jamaica a miss, unless you can't afford anywhere else. As others have stated, you might want to seek a place near the pubic transport network to avoid the hassle of car ownership.
