There's a chappie from Cambridge in one the workshops across the way from my workplace who imports Landies, mostly series IIa's and Defenders. I was quite tempted but who in their right mind buys a right hand drive with no air con in FL???

Bloody heathens, those dinky little forward control beasties are a great bit of kit, although if you want really rough and ready a Bedford 3 tonner is hard to beat.

You could strap an AC unit to the window, redneck style.

Aren't landie heaters/air-con known for being utter toilet?

I did watch the Daytona 500 with someone who knew what they were talking about, he was rooting for Blaney, some spectacular crashes.

A sweet win for Austin Dillon in the #3, 20 years after Dale Earnhardt won. It may be a very profitable coincidence for Dillon too, as this was the first time in almost as long that Jr wasn't racing (he has retired), so his fan base might just have found themselves a new hero to cheer for.

We’ve had a fairly decent dump of snow too and it’s still coming down pretty heavy. Truck hasn’t blinked though, so nice to feel safe on the roads again in comparison to the GTI
I sent you a PM by the way... none car related!

The Series 3 and Defender heaters are not bad.
I did see a picture of a Rover with a small woodstove fitted, it was in Finland or Russia I think.
I bought a 110 Station Wagon in the Oman with a factory fitted AC which did work but the issue was it had a 2.25 petrol engine so with the AC on it was sluggish to say the least.
The newer retro fitted AC units are quite good

My work vehicle is on getting some work done (5k’s of damage from a tire blowout ) The dealer gave me a loaner, I was expecting a crappy fiesta. Of course, this being America, they gave me a F150. It’s the Lariat edition, and even with the 3.5 V6 eco boost, this thing bloody flies! It is like driving a boat, but dang, that acceleration is down right addictive! It’s way too big as a daily driver, $90 to fill it up and averaging 13mpg at the moment. It’s totally impractical. But it’s fully loaded, my 2 kids love it, and where as I wouldn’t want one permanently, as a novelty, it’s bloody fantastic!!! I think I can sort of see the appeal in owning a decent truck.
