I can't remember exactly where it was, but I passed a scrap yard in Georgia a couple of years back and they had a car on a pole outside (as a kind of advert).

It was an Austin 1100, my first car! Of course, this scrap example was in better condition!

I was in Illinois a week ago; on the highway I drove past some business that had a 57 chevy high up on a pole. The drivetrain had been gutted.

Saw a E-Type jag today, on the back of a truck. Needed a bit of work, but didn't look all that bad...

Which one? There were several.

The one that started in NC, and featured the Mayor of North Wilksboro flat-footing was a good one.

I believe he's referring to the one that started in Miami and ended in New Orleans, following a genuinely scary episode in Alabama and featuring a dead cow!

All of the specials have their charm. For sheer guts and determination, plus the fact it was actually successful, one of my favourites must be the North Pole expedition. The search for the baby Jeebus has to be one of the funniest as well. Botswana and 'Oliver' holds a place in the heart, too. Heck, it's like being asked to name a favourite child!

This story has been around for several months.

I'll believe it when it's in the showrooms.

So at 331,000+ miles it was time for new transaxles for the old Accord. I just picked it up from the dealer and it runs very nicely, no more of that hideous vibration under acceleration that had developed. ... The clutch however lives on!
