Target is the place to go for kids lenses as they always have a good deal, plus you get extra off if you mention you are a AAA member, even if you're not, as they don't check.

No, you still have the option to get glass or plain, plastic lenses, they're about $60-100 cheaper. They're not toughened like the polycarb.

Not all polycarb lenses are equal either, my are knackered after a year and those were around $150 or so for the lenses and these are the replacement lenses after they got scratched before. Warranty covered only one replacement, they didn't mention that, or I'd have waited on getting them replaced.

I have always had my lenses coated with anti-reflection and anti-scratch coatings. I used to get only the anti-scratch back when they couldn't do both. As I wear glasses all day every day I consider paying for quality to be money well spent. As long as my prescription doesn't change, which it hasn't in a decade, my lenses can last 6-8 years with little scratching.

Weight and strength of the lenses (resistance to breaking) is why I went over to polycarbonate lenses a long time ago. "Bullet proof glass" is actually polycarbonate.

Aye, I got that anti-scratch coating too. It's crap on the lenses I've got at the mo.

Worked much better on some other lenses I got done else where.
