Have I finally broken through the US immigration barrier?
Have I finally broken through the US immigration barrier and made the totally impossible the gradually possible in due course?
An immigration law firm based in San Diego and headed by a British Citizen, called and said that with $100,000 USD, the E2 Visa would be available to me. I currently have half that amount in cash in the bank (I am not willing to sell my houses to raise the capital), so could realistically save up the remainder from my day job as an HR Business Partner in Rotterdam over the next four years. $100,000 is not a huge amount either. They also said that the National Interest Waiver Petition is primarily for actors and no organisation in the USA can legally employ me for any HR role, as apart from first needing to advertise it for 28 days, an investigation will be carried out over why they did not take an American and wanting EU experience and EU languages alone will not cut it.
However, for a US Citizen wanting to go the other way and live in the UK, the minimum capital amount required for a business investment visa is £2,000,000 GBP which most Americans presumably do not have, so $100,000 is essentially my price to get in there and far less.
I will however save up the remaining $50,000 and in four years time see if I still like it, it is for me, or if with $100,000 in cash another country in the world could be a better option for me.

So you're eligible for an E-2, which isn't news. Then what?
An E-2 is for self employed people or employees of other E-2 visa holders and their businesses. .... Why would an E-2 business want an HR specialist who isn't trained in and familiar with US employment law?
BTW $100k is quite low, and while some people have been able to secure an E-2 with an investment of $50k, $200k+ is more common, and I would recommend another $100k on top for start up costs of your home and other contingencies.
And I have no idea why you were told that an NIW was "primarily for actors". AFAIK it is used mainly for engineers, scientists, etc., who have skills useful to America.

I thought you let go of this "dream"?

You spent how much time opening threads here, and never identified the E2 in Pulaski's ways? As you keep saving, you best investigate the visa and what investments you would make. It's not a pay-and-forget situation.

I'm pretty sure almost no one here actually cares anymore about you or your plans. You've ranted and raved about how crappy US immigration is and how you've given up the dream and only now - after all your intense research and investigating every possible permutation of a visa - you're hearing about an E-2 for the very first time?
Pulaski mentioned the E-2 visa to you back in November… in the very first thread you ever posted here. Apparently, you couldn't be arsed to do proper research at the time.

I am beginning to think you might be right - one featuring three billy goats and a bridge.
