Halloween in Maplewood NJ is one of the biggest downtown events of the year. I see half my neighbours trick-or-treating from store to store as their kids collect the candy after school. There's a costume competition, DJ and a whole lot of fun! And then the kids start trick-or-treating in their streets. Some people do drive to the 'popular' streets where they can hit up more houses more quickly ! We stick to our own street - and have a get-together with the neighbours.

We went to the Halloweekends at Greenfield Village in MI this past weekend. I wasn't expecting a lot but it was really great - think it will become a new family tradition! Our neighbourhood doesn't really do trick or treating.
