Default Guy Fawkes Night - Tri-state NJ/PA/DE

Hi All,

Just wondering if there's any plans to celebrate Guy Fawkes day in the Tri-State area I know its election day for local counties here in Bucks County but I would love to celebrate like we used to do in the UK

Aaron.

I thought building a bonfire was pretty much prohibited...major fire risk with wooden built houses and lots of trees etc. Perhaps an organised one...approved by the local council...but why would they celebrate a UK tradition? AFAIK you can't buy fireworks in NJ...or transport them from out of state,

RI did a big party in a stately mansion, but think they stopped.

There was a play and bonfire a couple weeks ago too, they moved it from actual Guy Fawkes because they didn't want to risk the weather.

Not much help to the OP, but there's a beer and bonfire event this Saturday in Havard, MA...the actual town, not the square in Boston.

It's a pretty time of year, especially the place in Havard, over looks the mountains in MA/NH, out at Fruitlands Museum.

Bit of a hike just for a bonfire, beer and nibbles though.

Didn't we used to call it Bonfire Night?

Or is Guy Fawkes night the name you crazy kids are calling it these days?

I have friends in Stowe but never got chance to go there yet. Ironically I've driven to Canada though - I must be getting too lazy in my old age!

I thought they called it "V for Vendetta night" now?

Everyone seems to forget the whole burning Catholics bit these days.

The Ship Inn in Milford, NJ celebrate Guy Fawkes night. We have never got round to going so not sure what they actually do. Their website doesn't mention anything for this year but their FB page says something is going on Nov 6.
