Got myself a history lesson... both funny & sad.
I was watching a story about Will & Kate's visit to Poland on YouTube and in the recommendations video was a film produced during the war, a comical informational about how US servicemen should behave when posted in the UK.
Towards the end of the video it talks about the difference between US attitude towards black soldiers and the UK attitude. After I watched that I watched a second video on the subject, talking about how the US military segregated parts of England, putting places off limits to the black soldiers or haveing fish and chip shops etc for whites only or blacks... I suppose given the history it makes sense, I just didn't know it happened.
Anyhow the first video I watched was comically interesting check it out...

There were also race riots between groups of Black and White US servicemen based in England. All hush-hush at the time of course.
