Re: Fitness...do you?
Cheers!
PB for me. First 5k race, smashed my previous PB by a minute and a half. Knowing the race can sweep me away like that makes me feel I could get to a sub 20 5k. That was with me not dieting properly or doing proper training (I just ran 5k practically every day for a few months). With a proper training regime and a better diet, I could get there, and my motivation to do so is high!

Whilst a lot of it is down to the fact I run a lot and do sports and I'm very active, some of it is in part of being born into a family of 'good runners' per se. My younger brother was the fastest 100m sprinter in the West Mids for his age group for a few years, my sister was a good cross country runner and my mum was also a good runner too. I seem to have caught a mix of the speed/distance running. I'm the only one who has kept running past his 20's!

I've got age on my side! Although saying that, the winner was a 39 year old guy who ran it in 17 something, and second place was a 37 year old woman who did it in 18 something That means I have 10/12 years of training before I run a 17/18 something 5k
Well, I've looked up how to run a sub 20 5k and well, let's say I really have to step up my training from running 5k almost everyday to running 5 times a week with distances between 3-12 miles each run That's a big commitment....
