Re: Fitness...do you?
I'll probably run at least once or twice while I'm away and I do plan to do lots of walking because, well, I just miss walking around my old town. So I'll get plenty of passive exercise even if I'm not actively following my program.
This is one thing I have noticed since I started running. In the beginning I was on the treadmill because it was winter but once I made the transition to running in town once I got to the 5K end of Couch To 5K, I found it was much harder to go back to running on the treadmill to the point that I can barely manage much more than a mile on it anymore.

Feeling a bit Bridget Jones as I write this...
After being a bit of lazy so and so for a week or 2, I kickstarted my regime again by taking the dog for a run at 6.00 am ( any later and it's too hot for her and me), took daughter into UT for a film camp and then headed to the lake at 9.00 to row for an hour.
Feeling wiped out! Sat here drinking 3rd cup of coffee and eating a toasted cheese sandwich.

I ran a total of 30km this weekend. Thankful for BBQ weather in the UK meaning my family had a big BBQ and I got to refuel a lot through that!

Re: Fitness...do you?
Well my 59th birthday is rapidly approaching and to mark it I am planning a five mile run. I have zero doubt I can easily do it but I have been careful to not let my ambition overindulge reality.
Already doing 4.1 per run 4 to 5 times per week and have recovered nicely from the Achilles tendon issue in March.
Hopefully a nice milestone, 5- 8 minute per mile course.

Oh wait, I just remembered our birthdays are the same day! I will be on vacation for mine though and also, I'll be in the pub and not running

Re: Fitness...do you?
So, running has been my focus the past 2 months. Still another 5 days of this month left, but in the past two months I have covered 266km so far, which I am very proud of, as I never run this much usually!
I ran 21km over Saturday and Sunday, breaking my PB in 10km Saturday, then to only do that again today!

Well one year in and am now running farther, faster and easier than then. Five days per week at 4.1 miles at 8 minutes per mile. I consider this a plateau and hope to maintain it for years to come.

I'm glad to see this thread come to life again.... My fitness news is that my lovely DIL bequeathed her old Fitbit to me. She didn't like it, but I love it!!!
In this hot sultry summer we're having now in New England, it reminds me to get up out of my lawn chair and get myself moving.
I can't seem to raise my steps-per-day goal above 8K (which I easily meet most days)...but I'm working on it. Perhaps if the weather cools off it'll be easier to ratchet up to 9K.

By the end of the day I'm well over 8K steps (usually) and my calorie requirement is boosted up nicely high. Win win!
