Glad there was a police car behind the bus. Curious as to why somebody just happened to be filming the entire sequence though.

It wasn't the first time they'd done it... If you watch it back, you'll see there are two different instances of it one where she just does it, and one where you goes round a car to do it.
They were prepared - presumably they showed the first video to the police and that's why they were waiting down the street.

Yep - History of doing it, so, the Bus Driver alerted the Cops.

She should have been jailed and had the car confiscated, too.

I completely agree. She only lost her license for 30 days as well I think.
It's on another thread here that the judge ordered her to wear a sign saying idiot for 2 days at the crossing.

Ah right. That explains why it looked slightly different to how I remember seeing it a couple of days ago. Stupid the first time; incredibly insane to do it more than once then.

A woman near(ish) to where I live, blew past a stopped bus one morning a few weeks sgo and killed a teenager. I get the stopped bus rule, but I don't hear much about children being warned to make their own check for traffic before crossing the road. I read recently that an average school bus in NC has at least one car pass the bus while it is stopped each day!

As always, driving standards are pretty deplorable in these parts (50 states, plus DC).
