Default Cost of Hot Tub... estimate??

Hi all,

Had a very favorable meeting with our CPA re: 2021 taxes today, and want to invest in a hot tub. Has anyone purchased something like this, particularly in the NE?

Size would need to fit 4-6 people.

EDIT: and how much did it cost (point of post not included!)

H

I am guessing a hot tub is like a boat… so a cost and never an investment…

I was looking at some smaller ones on Wayfair… not that expensive for a rental property, Also factor in if it’s a regular plug or if you need a 220v circuit like a dryer as you may then need electrical works done:

We bought this one. We paid about $10,000 for it about 8 years ago but we included their salt-water system. Made chemical management MUCH easier.
It went with the house when we sold it.
It required a dedicated 50A 220V GFCI circuit.
We were in the Florida panhandle.
I still miss it.

Don't forget to factor in electrical costs. I hear they take about $40 per month even when they aren't being used. Some people practically give them away because they can't afford to keep them.

Thank you all, luckily previous owners brought the electrical sockets up to scratch near the patio area when they had a tub. they got rid of it as parents aged.

Electrics are covered.

Yep, definitely not an investment of fun tokens that I expect a return on!

Wow that looks super nice! My wife had a question, can you purchase hot tubs with a side dipping (cold) pool? I doubt it, but you never know
