We have lots of family coming over from U.K. and a tin of Quality Street and a couple selection boxes are already on their list!! Along with everything else l can think of!!
My brother is bring custard with him, l didn't ask him to he just insists it is required and l think he makes a fair point!
Have 2 large cheap xmas puds coming out next week to make truffles out of.
Have found a breakfast sausage that will do for pigs in blankets, not quite the same but covered in gravy they will do the trick!
On a diet at the moment and this thread is making me hungry!!

Ww went to World market recently to stock up on Xmas goodies, Quality Street, Celebrations, Walkers Shortbread, After Eight mints and an advent calendar.

I guess we will be going again soon as I seem to eaten the lot!! (sorry the advent calendar is a survivor..............)

I hasten to add I did question Mrs DJ about buying stuff so early!

I like the idea of foie gras and agree duck livers are not easy to source.
I may try a couple of goose livers.
Just tried venison pate it was too gamey for me.

Just back from TJMaxx, where they had an excellent selection of Tom Smith and other British cracker brands for under $10 a box. So many options it took me forever to choose!

Full christmas lunch, rum cocktails, on the beach...

Everything [strangely enough] is available here. The local tradition for us is cocoa tea, ham fried with onions and harddough bread for breakfast, proper uk style lunch, then the usual leftover fest for the rest of the day. BBC probably on the telly.

Turkeys and chickens [and eggs] are lovely here, remember chickens are naturally jungle fowl so rhey seem to taste nicer in the caribbean, turkeys good too, though i guess the fact that they luve a much more natural life outdoors eating all sorts helps too.

Realising what a fetish this is, this year i will be making my own mr stollen, about 4x the size and stuffed with more goodies than anything purchased.

Are you sure? In my experience, they don't sell food and drink, and I can't see any listed on their website.

Anyway, we have a World Market down the road from my work, and I'll be buying Christmas pudding and maybe mince pies from there soon. I expect I'll have to make my own brandy butter.

Edit: Turns out they do have brandy butter. Now I just need to decide if it's worth it for me alone.
