Chicago Plans!
Hey All,
Me and the OH are planning a trip to England in October and we are looking at flying out of Chicago. We live near KC, but flights are around $450 cheaper EACH from Chicago.
Anyone have any suggestions for places to park my car for two weeks? As well as good locations to find a place to stay the night before we fly and the night we get back?
Thanks!

You can use remote parking at O'Hare, Lot G, for $10 a day. Arrive early to ensure a spot.

This Hilton is right in the airport. You will have to see if prices are suitable for you though.

Some hotels offer park, stay and fly deals, where you can stay at the hotel before and/or after your trip, park your car in their car park and use their airport shuttle. As Chicago is not local to me I can't recommend anywhere near O'Hare, but it may well be worth a Google search.

Re: Chicago Plans!
We had to move our flights to December and honestly, looks like we would only save around $100 or less by doing the Chicago route. I'd rather save the 8 hour drive at this point. Just hoping flight prices drop soon!

We stayed at the Best Western O"Hare North/Elk Grove Village for a night before we flew to the UK and got 14 days parking for free. The weather turned bad on our homeward journey so we stayed again before heading north. The rooms were nice, the breakfast was reasonable and the airport shuttle got us there and back on time.

Pretty much what everyone has said. I have been snowed in a couple times at O'Hare and there are plenty of reasonable motels that will pick you up. The airport Hilton is good if in your price range.
The neighbourhood around the airport though is not that great - I wouldn't go wandering.

Can't help you with hotels though, but Hiltons are usually decent enough for a short stay. Look in Des Plaines/Rosemont too if you want something a bit cheaper with the plan to drive to long stay parking 1st thing in the morning of your flight.
The area around Midway is a lot worse though, I will say that.

Re: Chicago Plans!
Lot G is outdoors, so be prepared to shovel your car out if we get a decent amount of snow. Usually not a problem, but you never know. I use this lot when I travel for work.
There are some parking companies with indoor options if you have a nice car that you want to keep out of the weather. We have used the outdoor option with WallyPark for the last few years when we typically escape IL for a week in December. They seem decent enough and our car is always brought to us warmed up and free of snow (even using the outdoor parking option).

Can't vouch for WallyPark at O'Hare but I use them here a lot in Denver when I travel for work.
Reasonable prices and as davenay67 said, when we got a real bad dump of snow while I was away they warmed my truck up for me and cleared the snow from it while I was sat in the toasty-warm waiting room. Very good service.

Re: Chicago Plans!
I just ended up booking flights from Kansas City. If i'd flown in October as originally planned it'd save us around $800 total, but December only gives us about $300 savings so when factoring in hotels, parking etc, as well as the 8 hour drive in December weather we decided to just suck it up and pay the premium!
