Cascadia subduction faults.
Capable of producing a 'quake' of 9.0, and many say is overdue last seen in 1700 raising land on the west coast of the US many feet and causing a major tsunami in Japan.
Doesn't keep me up at night but think about it frequently. The infrastructure in this part of the US would likely be destroyed. If it were to happen I hope it is in June not January.
Interesting discussion for those scientifically interested.
Subduction zone earthquakes off Oregon, Washington more frequent than previous estimates

AIUI the worst aspect is that it wasn't properly recognised as a threat until around 1990, and consequently anything built before then wasn't built to survive a major earthquake, as that wasn't expected to be necessary.
I've read of experts saying everything west of I-5 would be toast if the fault goes. I think I'll stay here on the east coast and dodge the occasional hurricane.

And the State won't look after you if it happens. Do you have earthquake insurance? Pre 74 buildings are only built to withstand a 5 or 6 earthquake. They didn't think Oregon was prone to large earthquakes.

I don't worry too much, but I do predict utter chaos in BC and don't think the Canadian government will react quickly or have the ability to get aid/assistance out in a timely manner.

A huge storm was predicted in the northwest a few months ago. People in my town were going crazy and stocking up on food and supplies, and then got really pissed off when the storm changed course and completely missed us, because it meant that they bought all that stuff for nothing. I was not very popular when I pointed out that they were now prepared for an earthquake, as they should have been before.

At least I'd know which houses won't be immediately gunning for my supplies on day two.

Should probably prepare better for a quake. But when it's difficult just to buy food, it's difficult to stockpile food for an emergency.

I wouldn't worry too much about it - Yellowstone's going to get us first...
