Plus it has a knock on effect and gets very confusing. There are certain posters in TIO who keep cocking up the quotes and make no attempt to correct their posts. So I delete the offending posts and subsequent replies.

Yea, my workplace mentioned today that we have trouble finding people at $24/hr (though it's lowest rung and pretty boring, mostly data entry work). There's plenty of work here on the west coast it seems.

It's finding sufficient/inexpensive housing that seems to be the issue, honestly.

Housing is indeed the biggest issue for sure.

And yes, apparently you can. Also the Polish 'kurwa', the Finnish classic 'perkele' and who can forget Russia's perennial 'сука блять'.

All these are fine, but if you say f(e)ck, you're ****ed.

I assume someone scrawled **** you on that golden record aboard the Voyager probes.... which would qualify as the most protracted insult in, well, ever.

Luckily the chances of the first alien that sees it being able to understand English isn't as high as the Star Trek universe (which I love dearly nonetheless) would have us believe.

Perhaps, to them, '**** you' is the highest compliment one can give and that alien's race will come to Earth to shower us with gifts in thanks. But in true HHGTTG fashion, they'll be really tiny and end up being eaten by a dog.
