Anyone found a decent white bread [ie without tons of sugar in it] I used to like Kingsmill.

The Lounge, might not help, but have a search in the US forums here and you should see some recommendations that might be a bit more helpful

Give up. The Italian one is ok for toast. Otherwise give up. Learn to like wholemeal.

This might be part of the problem :-

Re: Bread???
Agree with the suggestions for sourdough. Other than that, look towards the in store bakery. The bread there sometimes has less sugar added. I quite like the Safeway famous bake house 7 grain. Doesn't have corn syrup added at least.

Re: Bread???
Are you buying pre-packaged sliced stuff in the bread aisle? If so, find a supermarket with a bakery and try some of the specialist breads -- my personal favorite is a ciabatta with olive oil and roasted garlic.

Re: Bread???
Thank you all for your suggestions. I do have Italian bread sometimes and also French. Some sourdoughs are good, others not so. I keep buying a different sliced loaf each week, usually try one slice then chuck it. Will keep trying.
Thanks again though.

Re: Bread???
Albertsons do an English toasting loaf which is the closest we've found to British bread. There is also a brand called Potato Bread and that's less sweet too.
Or buy a decent breadmaker.
