Black Friday deals - what's everyone bought?

Re: Black Friday deals - what's everyone bought?
I got talking to the guy about their 50/60" TV deal because it seemed just about every cart had one. Can't remember how much they were, but presumably cheap. It was a brand I'd never heard of, and he reckoned most of them would be returned because the picture quality was crap and they break down a lot

28 cards, not 28 accounts - includes a plethora of "Authorized Users" (all of whom count separately on AMEX-issued cards).
There was a time when AMEX didn't ask for SSNs for AUs, back when people would order an additional card for each of the squirrels that visited their garden...

In theory, now only relatives and close friends can now acquire credit history from your credit history by being an AU.

Got the Kindle Fire HD (prvious generation) for $99.99 from Best Buy. Strolled in at 9AM on Fri so certainly didn't have to knock over old ladies. Loving it so far. Was considering an iPad but was massively put off by the price. This seems a relative bargain and cheap enough that I can just about let the kids play with it without sweating too much

Wife wanted a steam mop and a couple of other items from the Walmart ad, so we set off for the local store. I decided that $200 was a good price for an iPad mini ($299 with a $100 gift card), so I got in the queue. I was almost immediately given a card to take to the checkout to pay and it would be sent to me before Christmas, so that was fairly civil!
Wife got her mop right at 6pm and we saw the other things she was interested in and decided they weren't worth it, so we were the first at the register and out by 6:03! It was a zoo in there, so I consider that a lucky escape!

My friend and I went to Wally World to check it out, about 6:15. The first clue that we shouldn't go in was the parking lot! We had to park across a busy road in another shopping center, we couldn't find a spot in Wal Nut! We did persevere and after managing to claw our way to the back of the store (not sure why we did) couldn't find one thing on sale that you didn't have to stand in a massive queue to gain (what my 12 year old daughter called a "fastpass" lol) ticket to someplace else.
We left, never to repeat "Black Thursday" again!

I have just purchased a Wii U game in Amazon's Cyber Monday sale. Yes I know it's still Sunday. The game is for my grandson, in case you are wondering.

I think you should be given a medal for even getting to the register and making a purchase!

I was given the card for the iPad almost as soon as I got to the queue. In fact, I waited longer than I needed to - someone else told me to get the card, so I was done by 5:40. The mops were right at the front so getting to the checkout was easy.
It was when we went back in at about 6:15 that the checkout area was totally insane! They had moved all the clothing and other bins out of the area behind the tills so there was more room for idiots with carts!
I could have got the same deal online from Best Buy ot Fry's, but a Walmart gift card is so much more useful.

A couple of small toys for the kids, mostly because they are the santa gifts they wanted and the grand folks took the kids for the afternoon.
Wasn't so bad...didn't get much else apart from a couple other presents.
