Yes. Ironically, I don't. I'm the 'at will' employee.

Medical workers (except doctors) are normally unionized and if she is in a union, the direct course of action should be a grievance through the union and not directly to the employer.

I want you to know that you are personally responsible for me spraying tea all over my keyboard. Wonder if the fine lady could possibly injure the finger used to operate the thing.

Any man stomping into his partner's work place and bellowing about how unfair the employer is and demanding changes would probably enjoy: -
1: Police escort out the door.
2: Wife's position and respect at the work place diminished by parenting partner which would make her very unhappy.
3: A lecture on showing clear signs of discrimination with probably an excellent justification for termination.

She should just resign and look for something else. Reading between the lines here, this sounds like an outpatient type clinic and it is surprising they would use a surgical nurse to do a task risking injury to her hands. Highly irregular. Her place of employment does not sound that kosher to me.

In larger Hospitals, perhaps.

Depends on the size of the place. My wife works at a decent sized Clinic, over 1,000 employees.......No Union.

I have never seen a contract for an employed health care worker in a US healthcare facility. Instead we have "job descriptions" which describe in detail the primary role of the employee within the organization. At the end of the job description there will be a neat little statement..."and other duties as assigned"

Maybe I'm used to California since it is quite common for hospitals close down due to striking medical staff.

So there are really two issues here.

1. Your wife is being expected to do things that are outside the scope of what she'd hired to do...

and

2. You're an ignorant b@st@rd who dislikes obese people!

For 1. you get my vote. For 2., you suck!

What happens when she injures herself at work which could potentially change her life forever? Would you care if she was pissed with you then for interfering to stop it?

Ignorant? For finding people who eat themselves into a wheelchair offensive? Society might condone the fatties here, I don't.

Are you for real??????

there are MANY reasons that some people are obese and "eating themselves into a wheelchair" is just one of them!

I bet you're all for killing off mentally retarded people as well?

While you're at it, why not join the nearest White Supremist group?

You're sick. Go get help.
