Anybody watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao?
Surprisingly most Americans (from locals and scanning through Twitter feeds) seemed to support Pacquiao, not their countryman. Bit of a wimpy fight I thought, not being an expert by any means, but lots of cuddling going on and mostly taps rather than punches. But if making contact is all that counts then I suppose that's the name of the game.
Anyway, good fun night with the neighbors so can't complain!

Yes, ultimately quite disappointing.
I understand he's a great technical boxer, but Mayweather spent the majority of his time ducking out of punches on the ropes, moving around the ring and grabbing hold.
I was gutted Pacquiao didn't get more for his initiative, but I guess thems the rules.

I didn't see it but the best comment I saw online was, "you are meant to hug your wife and punch your opponent, not the other way round".

Despite what people think about the fight, both Mayweather and Pacquiao this morning:

...... $138,000/second.
I wouldn't be surprised if they'll do a rematch down the road .... too much PPV money etc to capitalize from it again that it'd be hard to pass on such opportunity. ....

It's amazing the amount of people that expect a Rocky movie every fight. I thought it was an enjoyable fight. It wasn't a toe to toe slugfest, but that isn't Mayweather's style. As for the Yanks supporting the PacMan, I suspect Mayweather's habit of overtly flaunting his wealth and knocking 7 bells out of the women in his life have a lot to do with that.

I really don't know why anoyne thought anything different would happen. Very technical and correct game plan to score a pedestrian-like win.
Honestly I struggle to get excited at all about boxing with contests like that.

GeoffM: What is the etiquette for getting invited by a neighbor to watch a fight like this? Are you expected to make a contribution to the PPV costs? Is it asked up front? How does it go?

Took beer and kebabs around. As for PPV... I don't think it was how the cable companies wanted him to pay - he paid something like $4 to stream it from Mexico or somewhere. I thought best not to ask specifically.

Every conversation I have heard about the fight fails to mention who won or any actual highlights. I don't think quite so many people are going to stump up that much cash for a rematch.

Re: Anybody watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao?
If Mayweather is serious sbout 2 more fight before hanging up the gloves, there won't be a rematch. If his last fight isn't against Amir Khan, then he's running scared. Unlike Pacquiao, Khan is at the top of his game. His speed will create problems even for Mayweather. Mayweather isn't particularly explosive either, so Khan's glass chin should be ok. That's a fight I'd pay to see.

Last time it was $75 or thereabouts. Certainly milking it - before the match they were predicting $300m in US PPV sales alone. Put the price too high and more people will pirate it.
