I hate that my neighbour's dog keeps cräpping in my back yard.

That isn't what you meant by "anti-pet peeve"?

SO very true!

I used to hate road trips before we got ours--the arguments between driver and 'navigator'/passenger were epic and occasionally led to big trouble (as in getting completely lost).... Now car trips are a breeze.

And before anyone asks this, yes, we can both read paper maps, and do still carry way too many of them ... just in case!

My Nokia phone downloads the maps of each state in case we lose cellphone coverage (which we do in more isolated parts of texas). You're right about it stopping the arguments!

Another windows phone user - good on you. Yes, having maps downloaded on the phone is super helpful when you have no cell signal.

Google is finally waking up to that idea, apparently.

Hey Pulaski don't knock them! I've bought $50 nokia smart phones for my younger kids and they are pleased as punch with them. They haven't lost them, washed them or broken them either. If I'd bought them more expensive ones they'd have done at least one of the above by now!

The music player on them is a piece of crap. That is driving me nuts - nearly all my music was on itunes for the ipod I used for running before and the technicalities of changing all the formats has beaten me. I have the music in at least 2 locations on my phone and I can only play the same 6 cds... aghhh!

They grow here reasonably well, and I have had two of them* (already planted when I bought Pulaski Manor), but bizarrely they don't flower at all here because of the heat.

* One got flattened by a hickory tree that fell when hurricane Jeanne blew through in 2004, the other I dug up because it was misshapen/ lopsided, and obstructing a path.

My elderly cat purring and chuntering to me when I brush him before his breakfast. He loves it.
