Tongue twisters don't really work in Thai unless you fully appreciate the vowel lengths and tones.

e.g. Mai, mai, maai, mai means - Does new silk burn?
Mai, mai mai maai means - New silk doesn't burn.

Thai jokes often involve tonal confusion such as in farang kee nok.

where's the confusion in that ? more of an insult than a joke .

Mai, mai mai maai - It is actually the matter of intonation, which is a common problem of foreigners (or farangs), but has nothing to do with a Thai tongue twister. Please be careful to use the sensitive word 'farang kee nok' which is such an insult to westerners. A classic tongue twister in Thai is 'thahaan baeg puen boeg puun bai boog dueg' (ทหารแบกปืนเบิกปู ไปโบกตึก; a soldier carrying a gun takes out clay/cement to build a building). This is a short sentence, but when repeating it more than twice it does not make sense anymore.
