Hello all ive never been to thailand but we are considering thailand as a stag do for my cousin any views on were to go for beach life and girls

There's many trashy places where you can oggle the girls (and more for a price) and some aren't even girls either. Patong in Phuket. I've never been to Pattaya but I gather parts of that are of a similar nature.

If you want somewhere slightly tamer, Rawai in the south of Phuket is quite nice, plenty of bars, nice seafood, and nice promenade and beach. For a normal sort of evening, Nikita's on the waterfront is very nice and reasonable prices. The Sunshine Bar in the middle of the strip along the beachfront offers a kind of ad hoc "cabaret" behind the bar. The bargirls, barboys and ladyboys dance and sing... quite a good laugh if you've never been to Thailand before. All (except the owner) are "for rent" too.

thanx for advice. definately no ladyboys.. so in pattaya were the best place to hangout and pull some real women.

Pull is a relative term in these places.

If you are after bar girls, then there are alot of places in all the popular resort destinations. Pattaya and Phuket is bar girl central.

A group of pissed up lads on a stag do can be targeted by various unscruplous types, so keep your wits about you and remember the law is not on your side in the land of smiles.

Koh Samui would be another good choice, at least you have some choice in terms of more hip bars and clubs.

You should have a top time, nice beaches, good places to stay, great dance clubs, and lots of European ladies out for a good time!

Makes me think wistfully back to my backpacker days....Kristina from Denmark.....

As said, usual destination for such is Pattaya or Phuket (Pattaya the better of the two perhaps). Most bars (gogo/karaoke/and normal drinking bars) have "bar girls" (ephemism for prostitute). Bangkok also has its places, but it is spread out a lot more and not a great place for a revellers holiday. Chiang Mai is a lot more tame - but most is around just a few roads (Loi Kroh) - no real gogo bars, but plenty of drink bars and BGs.

Just be careful of scammers - read up about them - stay away from jet-skiis or buying gems (glass/resin) - stay away from drugs of any sort not purchased at a chemist in the legal way (even blow - its just too dangerous here). If in trouble, call the tourist police (even if the trouble is the police - actually, ESPECIALLY if the problem is the BiB - Boys-in-Brown - cops). Be careful of tuktuk drivers in Phuket (known locally as the Thai Mafia!) - famous for adjusting the agreed price at destination (doubling) and having half a dozen other tuktuks standing by to ensure prompt payment with tip! (another reason to head to Pattaya instead!)

Beer (lager) is cheap (Thais put ice in it, so tell them if you don't like that "mai ow nahm keng" but "no ice" will work almost everywhere), Thai Whisky (actually Rum) is very cheap too. Careful of being ripped of for lady drinks (tourist can get lumbered with huge bills for buying a couple of OJs for the BG as "companian fee" may be added) - especially at karaoke bars. Best bet, look for bars with many farang (that's us western foreigners) in it, and odds are u will be fine.

Oh, and don't pick fights with tuktuk drivers (arrange fee up front and give them exact money with tip if u wish) or lady-boys - trust me on that!

Koh Samui might be a good choice . Easy to get to with flights from BKK and it is not so one-dimensional as somewhere like Pattaya . I know you're on a stag do but there will probably be times where you will want to chill out a bit and get away from the madness . Pattaya probably won't give you that option . Bit of a cliche for a stag do Pattaya , the bride will be worried !. I'm not really a fan of Samui but it might fit the bill for you . Lot of bars and nightlife if you want it but it also has other options as well .

(In case it's not known, in Decemeber there was a 72 hour black out in KS this month due to the peak being almost twice the power output of the island )

but a lot of places would have their own generator anyway though , that was how things used to be in Koh Phangan years ago anyway , and that is a smaller island.

November is the rainiest month for Samui . There have been years with bad flooding . Could add to the holiday !!
