Hi Every one

I am a primary, secondary school teacher of English in Pakistan. I did my MA English literature in 2000 and B.Ed(Bachelor of Education) in 2004. I have an experiance of teaching(post qualification) of 9 years.

I would like to ask some that Can I apply for immigration to Australia or not and what are the requirements for a teacher in Australia.

Check the website of the AITSL (Australian Institute of Teching and Schoolleadership), that's the skill assessing body for teachers.

Just out of interest - what would you want to teach there? I'm a secondary teacher of English ( but from Germany) myself, but I would never, ever think of teaching English there ( maybe English as a second language, but there job chances are very slim). Apart from English I am also a qualified teacher of music and would be interested in teaching LOTE German, so I have other teaching chances. Do you have any other subject that you would be qualified to teach? I doubt that schools in Australia will employ teachers from abroad ( non native speakers) to teach English.

Thanks for your prompt reply, I understand this but my Masters is in English Literature, however my bachelor is in Persian, English, Psychology, Urdu etc and my Bachelor of education is also in urdu. Urdu is our national language.

Is Primary Teacher in demand in Australia? Have you checked out if it's in demand (I don't think it is anymore). Then get your skill assessed & see if you have enough points.
Speak to an immigration agent and get professional advice.
