This lady certainly is for turning.
Guess what being English means you could lose your WFA but suddenly in Scotland where the Tories are taking on the SNP Scots will now keep thei WFA.
It's apparently colder in Glasgow and the lowlands than just across the border.

Does that make it more understandable?

Re: UK General Election
Hello Dick Dastardly. I note that your link is from the Telegraph which is owned by Murdoch, a billionaire who lives offshore to avoid paying taxes. He's the one who is quoted as saying (When asked why his papers were campaigning for Brexit) "When I go to Downing Street they do as I say but when I go to Brussels they ignore me." It's not surprising that he would be working against Corbyn as he's a politician who refuses to be 'bought' and wants to put an end to the rich getting away with making their millions at the expense of the rest of us. As for Corbyn's links with the IRA - yes, he spoke with them and tried to understand them. He believes peace should be obtained by negotiation if at all possible. Other politicians had secret talks but Corbyn was open about it. Corbyn is against unnecessary wars and spoke up against Iraq. He speaks up for the Palestinian people and is immediately labelled 'anti-semitic' by the biased media but if you actually listen to the man himself instead of the twisted reports you will find him to be open and welcoming to people of all races and religions. He refuses to stoop to personal abuse even when others hurl insults at him.

I think that's a very good summary he is undoubtedly a well meaning and principled man. However, his close allies are not of the same quality and include bigots and anti-semites and that worries many people.

Actually it isn't. It's one of a few that have escaped his clutches and is owned instead by some other offshore-dwelling billionnaires, the Barclay Brothers.
The only real surprise, though, is that the Telegraph is dredging up some rather old news and presenting it as new. Do they really think their readers are that daft or forgetful? Not that any of them are likely to have been tempted to vote Labour, anyway.

Hello Garbatellamike: Labour has a very good team, including Emma Thornberry, Barry Gardiner, John McDonnell and Angela Rayner - to name a few. Trouble is they don't get much publicity in the biased media. Who do you think is anti-semitic in the Labour party? Certain people such as Michael Foster want us to think anti-semitism is rife by deliberately implying that criticism of the Israeli government's actions against the Palestinians is the same thing as being anti Jewish people and it most certainly isn't!

Re: UK General Election
Concerning Tories manifesto :
When they say one has to pay for care until your assets are down to 100.000 pounds, do they include overseas properties as well ?
There are loads of Brits with ''holiday homes'' overseas, so it might give them a reason to think twice !
Also, about inheritance tax, does one has to pay this also over the bit one has to use for care eg, house worth 300.000, use 200.000 for care (which I understand is only enough for a few years of care), does one has to pay inheritance over 300.000 or over the remaining 100.000 ?
Al this should give the young people another good reason to vote, since their inheritance might disappear to the state.

I can see why the Tories want people who can afford it would put a cap on assets, but if I'd spent the last 20-30 years paying a mortgage, why shouldn't I get to keep the house?
Tories: Making sure that those born poor, stay poor, and that those lucky enough to escape poverty still die poor.

Sorry I can't answer your question, Annetje, and it's highly likely the Tories haven't thought it through properly as yet anyway. Let's hope they are not given the chance and are voted out on June 8th!

Thanks, Red Eric, I stand corrected! However, it looks as though we agree in principle. MI5 probably have files on several politicians but no case has ever been brought against Jeremy Corbyn so I think we can safely say he is innocent of any such accusations.
