Trump ends 'Dreamers' program
Donald Trump thrust the fate of nearly 800,000 young, undocumented migrants into uncertainty on Tuesday by terminating the Obama-era program that protects the so-called Dreamers from deportation.
The 2012 policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca) will be phased out by 5 March 2018, leaving Congress with six months to enact new protections for Dreamers through legislation.
New applications will no longer be accepted, while those currently in the program will all lose their status by March 2020, with the first permits expiring in March 2018 – unless Congress passes legislation allowing the young immigrants to stay.

Sad but maybe it won't be a problem if Perry gets the budget cuts on the dept dealing with the nuclear waste dump at Handford Washington state.
An article in Vanity Fair believes it's the biggest nuclear threat to the USA,and its from inside the white house. Tons of highly toxic nuclear waste degrading and running into the Colorado river to pollute the entire North west pacific area...and we thought N Korea was the problem

I don't mean to be pedantic, but to avoid confusion, I think that would be the Columbia river.
Edit: Oops! mrken30 already did it.

Re: Trump ends 'Dreamers' program
Obama technically broke the law by circumventing Congress in the matter of these Dreamers but by all that's' humanitarian and decent let them stay in the US

Re: Trump ends 'Dreamers' program
It's about Trump throwing a bone to his build-a-wall type supporters and massaging his battered ego a bit with something he can classify as an "accomplishment". Though in what sense removing legal protection from 850,000 young people who were brought here by others as children, have gone to school, have no criminal record, have lived here for well over 10 years now and effectively know no other country, could possible be classed as an accomplishment is a mystery. Still, it's easier than foreign policy or job creation, or health care, isn't it.
It doesn't address how the US manages its immigration policies or anything else much. He won't be able to find and deport them even if he really wanted to - he will just create yet more people living here outside the legal system, and there are already millions of those.
Congress might yet overrule him, but until then it's just more mess that his successor will have to clear up.

Well I am glad he has the crises in NK & Texas (maybe Florida?) so well sorted that he can devote time & effort to this issue.

Re: Trump ends 'Dreamers' program
What irritated some lawmakers was that as part of DACA you could apply for both an EAD and advance parole (AP).
With AP you could leave the country, come back in (flag pole) and be in a status that could then be adjusted from by marriage to a US citizen. Without leaving and re-entering you wouldn't have been inspected and therefore no status to adjust from.
Therefore DACA had somewhat a path to citizenship.

Re: Trump ends 'Dreamers' program
America is a country that was literally built on foreigners coming in (often with nothing, and sometimes in bondage), and two of their most important states were literally stolen from Mexico, ethnically cleansed and resettled. It's hypocritical and frankly embarrassing for them to turn away foreigners. If anything, a Mexican in Los Angeles has more of a right to tell a person to go back to Europe than a white American has a right to tell him to go back to Mexico.

Yes, absolutely a joke.
It was a lot more than two states for a start. What is the poster thinking by limiting it to two
