Basically by cancelling The Cardin-Lugar Transparency Provision which was put in place by Obamas Administration in a attempt to stop the blatant corruption in the Oil Industry, But now under "Prat Face" & with Tillerson's backing corruption is AOK ,so fill your buckets !!!

A Big Gift to Big Oil

I don't really know where to put this, but it seems somehow related to Trump.

I have no idea who I want to win here

Interesting article though it doesn't seem to present reality too well.

1. As far as the most "corrupt" industry I think a case could be made equally for the arms trade.

2. It is already illegal for US companies to give bribes, reporting a total sum paid to foreign governments on SEC filings hardly will help uncover bribery. Reporting details of payments to SEC directly would make more sense. But then again, why would payment to foreign government be considered bribery for securing oil rights according to legislation of that country ? A better disclosure requirement would be of payments made to people or companies for acquisition of oil rights.

3. Yes obvious reporting payments to foreign governments can provide competitive advantage to other companies, but reporting them privately to the SEC in sufficient detail would make more sense.

My reaction to this thread: it's almost like Trump and his supporters disagree with most of you politically.

I thought Trump wanted to take us back to old America, just like it used to be in the 20th century.

That should open the door to Canada suing the US, and for US states suing other states, if they are downwind and they suffer damage? You know.... "See you in court!"

Sad.
