You can understand the confusion.

Of course it doesn't matter. The fact is that he used a gun. Not a knife, or a bomb, or poison gas, or a giant inflatable attack-rabbit, but a gun. What kind of gun is of such insignificant and secondary importance, but the gun lobby will focus everything on the semantics to obfuscate the point that it was, in fact, a gun that was used to kill 50 people.

And then nothing will change, because, you know, second amendment and all that.

It is interesting that the latest massacre took place at a country music concert -- where it seems that the audience might be very much the NRA's base. But it's too much to hope that out of bad might come good . . .

Yeah. Freedom. Etc.

If this country were a child, it would have its toys taken away from it until it learned how to use them responsibly.

Not much chance of that with a 2 year old in the white house.
( Apologies to all two year olds around the world).

ISIS have now claimed responsibility, saying it was one of their supporters, actually it would be a good thing if it was, would show Trump's travel ban was a total waste of time and effort, pity it might have taken the loss of so many lives. At least he has now tweeted about it, saying 'warmest condolences to the families of those killed and injured in Las Vegas' WTF, 'warmest condolences' the man in an absolute idiot and I feel so sorry for all those living in the US and having a child as leader.

And he came all the way from Texas to join the party. Maybe he lost at the gaming tables.? It's up to 10 guns in his room now.. I wonder how you would pack that many into a bag without attracting attention? Not being flippant here. It's a tragedy on a huge scale A homeland security mega failure.

Amend that ,now they say he is from Mesquite Nevada

ISIS would claim responsibility for a car crash on the M3.

So much for the security at the hotel.
I could suggest that had he been of a different colour and background things would have been different.

Officials have identified the shooter as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old American who had multiple weapons on the 32nd floor of a nearby hotel, where he is believed to have killed himself.

A statement published by the group's Amaq propaganda agency claimed the attacker was a “soldier of the Islamic State”.

“The Las Vegas attacker is a soldier of the Islamic State in response to calls to target coalition countries,” it said.

Isis also claimed the gunman “converted to Islam several months ago”, without providing more details.

The wording of the release is similar to other attacks that have been inspired, rather than directed, by Isis.
