Default Slightly embarrassing medical problem.

Hi all,
I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
I recently moved to Barcelona and have not yet got the CatSalut card. I am an English teacher with young children and i think i have caught tapeworms.
Does anyone know if i can get over the counter medicine at a pharmacy for this? I know its silly but, i would much rather do that than go to a doctor.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If you think you have tapeworms, you need to see a doctor. It's more likely that you have threadworms/pinworms, which a pharmacist should be able to give you something for.

It's quite common for toddlers to pick up thread worms which then can be transmitted easily to adults. The worms are about 1cm long & a silvery colour. They can be seen in children's bottoms, which make the poor things scratch.
I think you should be able to pick up a wormer from the pharmacist; at least we used to be able to in England when our children were small.
