Retirement communities
Hi, only at the "thinking about it" stage at the moment, but considering downsizing from our current place on the Costa Blanca to a more manageable, smaller place for the retired and/or 55 plus age group. Been here 16 years but know absolutely nothing about this sector of the market.
Anyone any experiences, knowledge. information or anything to point me in a direction please?
Thanks.

Re: Retirement communities
Hi and a warm welcome to the Spanish forum on BE. Myself and Fred James are the moderators for the Spanish forums whilst BEVS moderates Europe. Moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. This is so that members gain the information that they are looking for and find their experiences on the forums to be friendly and worthwhile.
Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderator who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are usually friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the issues of living in Spain. I hope that you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Please let me know if you need any further help.
Rosemary

I think there is a setup for 55+ in Alfas del Pi - try Google or have a visit to the area.

Re: Retirement communities
The complex in Alfaz is called Forum Mare Nostrum, about a 10 mins.walk(downhill) to the town centre.Of course it's uphill going back!I remember when it was first constructed some years ago when it originally had a helicopter on a pad opposite to take emergency medical cases where needed. That was discontinued when some residents were worried that it might crash into the complex when taking off!Nowadays it has many functions that are held there as there is,amongst other things,a large hall. The U3A used to hold meetings there I think.Cuidad Patricia comes under Benidorm, popular with ex-pat.British & the local RBL meetings are held there now.Hope this is of help.
