Default "Neater Heaters"

Anyone any experience of having installed these units? If so, any advice or comments?
Thanks.

They just plug in; not cheap to buy, though, and even though they are meant to be very economical, with the price of electricity so high, expect huge bills if you need a lot of heaters.

Do you mean these?

If so - no I haven't but I could comment on electric heaters and their advertising if you are interested.

If someone was on 3.3 kw potencia, surely they would need to upgrade, with all that entails?

Yes I do mean these. Currently we have an in-wall living flame fire which burns artificial coals with a gas supply. We find it very attractive and it gives out a fair amount of heat. When things really go cold however we wheel out one, then often two of the oil filled portable heaters to boost things and they work ok but don't look very attractive just stuck there! Better we thought to have flat units we could wall mount which would look a lot neater (no pun intended!).
We also have considered Newatt radiators but they are very expensive and I'm not sure we would recover the initial outlay in energy costs v price.
Any other advice very welcome.
Thanks - appreciated.

Can't see anything, but if it's the link jimenato means, nothing special. There are plenty of suppliers around, but what heating needs do you have. Is it just a room, the whole house? I would recommend Air Con as heating (heat pump), or Infrared heaters if you're looking at electric.

Perhaps so, but I'm more concerned to know if they work efficiently, preferably by someone who has got one or more of them!

I would recommend this Welltherm | Infrared Heating Panels, cost efficient electric heaters You can get them as glass heater or customize with picture, so you won't even see it's a heater. Saying that it's important how your home is insulated and the size needs to fit the room dimensions.

Thanks for that, we don't have an air-con unit at the moment but are thinking of one in time for next year's summer and the option of heat output is an attractive bonus.

The point about electric heaters is that they all use the same amount of electricity to produce the same amount of heat. The notion of efficiency - i.e. the production of more heat for less money is erroneous, and it doesn't make any difference how much you shell out initially either.

So a wall panel, an oil filled heater, a straightforward convector or even an ancient bar fire all produce the same amount of heat for the same amount of electricity used (and therefore money spent).

You just have to choose which you are happier with aesthetically.

So how can the makers of neater heaters claim they are more efficient to run then?

Where did you get that info from. So you're telling me that any washing machine, dryer, TV uses the same amount of electricity LOL.

Also 3 kWh might be 3 kWh, but you'll find that an infrared heaters doesn't need the same watts as a convection heater. It also heats the walls and your body, not the air.

Unless I missed it (I might have) they didn't say that.

If they did say it, it could be because they are in Spain and so aren't under the jurisdiction of the UK Advertising Standards Authority.

If they were in the UK and made that claim in an advert I would refer them to the ASA (I do that sort of thing...)
