Default Mobile Wifi

I currently use a Carrefour pay as you go dongle for my internet connection but have spotted this and it seems to be reasonably priced alternative.
Has anyone any experience of this or similar?
Thanks.

I have a Zoom MiFi box - which you can get in Maplins. The later models have both 3G & 4G capability and a socket into which you can plug an extension aerial for better reception if necessary. A little more expensive but better value for money judging by the specs. You still need to get a PAYG Sim from a local service provider.

What attracts me is that the tariff covers 40 countries including UK,Spain and the USA, so I can use it wherever I am likely to be.

I'm not clear how any provider can guarantee any flat rate mobile data in 40 countries. Different providers charge different roaming rates -especially for data. Some are outrageously expensive.

I reckon that guarantee applies only to when you are connected to specific providers, which may not always be accessible where you happen to be. Or perhaps your device decides to connect to the "wrong" one.

I'm not arguing that it can't be done, but I think it may not be so simple.

With a rolling contract and most probably a locked unit, I'd have thought the Curry's deal only really worth considering if you travel very frequently, or use at home as well.

Understand that Knowhow uses the Three network, and most likely with no guarantee on the reliability of their partner networks abroad.

I'd buy an unlocked mifi as MikeJ has done, you can pick one up for about £40 or so on Amazon etc, and then buy a no contract PAYG data sim from a local network provider in Spain or the US, topping up as and when you need it.
