Have the tolls been scrapped yet on the Soller Tunnels, does anyone know. I was in Mallorca last week but didn't manage to get up there. The latest news I've seen published suggests that the company that owns it (Globalvia) are holding out for more dosh!

I know there are strong views on both sides of the argument over the abolition of the tolls, with locals claiming it will flood the area with tourists. Although it will be easier on the pocket for me, I don't intend to visit more often than I normally do, so I'm not entirely sure that their worries have any foundation.

I haven't been up there myself in some time. I heard it was supposed to be free by now, but apparently it isn't yet. Mallorca daily bulletin had a story about it some months ago. You might want to check their archives.

Hey amideislas, yeah I heard that too. September 1st was 'supposed' to be the date. Apart from the link in my first post, I've not seen anything more recent. I'll be back to Mallorca next Sunday, perhaps I'll take a drive up there then.

Oh. Forgot about this thread. Looks like the tolls are still in place. I was there two weeks ago, and had to pay.
