Default Looking to buy property in Almeria

My husband and I are coming over to Almeria to look at properties in June.
We are viewing houses in Turre, Sufli, Zurgena, Albox, Purchena for a holiday home for us and our children/grandchildren.
Where as we are very willing to mix with the local community and learn some Spanish, we are a bit concerned about locals not accepting us.
Can anyone offer any advice on any of these areas and local amenities please?
Also rather concerned about articles we have read about taxation on undervalued properties??
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Sue

I dont think you will have any problems re locals, we live in a predominantly Spanish town (small) since we moved over nearly 12 years ago they couldnt have been friendlier, learn a Little of the language practice on them, say hello to everyone you pass in the Street (Brits tend not to and it is seen as rude). lovely lovely people good luck and dont worry

I could stick a pin in any map and wax lyrical of the good points of living there. Trouble is what I like and what you like can be poles apart.

Therefore, I suggest you rent in any area that takes your fancy for no less than 6 weeks. Rentals are easy to pick up off season, so there should be no pressure on you. Believe me, you will know after 6 weeks whether you like a particular area or not. Then if necessary move on. Rentals (off season) work out ´€550.00 per month for a good 2 bedroom apartment in a decent resort. Book privately, you'll save a fortune.
