Default Info regarding outstanding traffic fines

About 3 years ago I saw something on here about obtaining info from DGT regarding possible outstanding traffic fines. It was free and I used it to check before selling the car. However I can't find the original post anymore.
I changed my car about 2 years ago and also moved to another region. When I went to the ITV this summer I asked if they could change the domicilio, they appeared to say yes but as my Spanish is not very good, who knows? I would like to check the DGT details and also whether I have any outstanding fines which I may not know about because I have changed my address.
Grateful for any info.

The DGT has a site to check fines by registration. Follow the above link and scroll down enter it : "Acceso a TESTRA sin certificado digital"

In order to change your address you will need to do it in Trafico

It is also possible to register with DGT and have any fines sent by email as they occur, thus making sure that you have adequate time to pay them and get the 50% discount.

If you have the standard DGT document which lists all your information and your vehicle it is the code that runs vertically up the left side of the document.

When you say "standard DGT document" why would anyone have that? I certainly don't for any of our vehicles.

Thought DGT sent them to every car owner. Shows what they have registered including insurance company.

Nope - never seen on for any of the vehicles we have or have had - should I be worried? Anyone know?

Could it be that you only get one if you've been fined?

No they were issued late 2014 and early 2015 , sent to home address/registered address of the vehicle. Have it filed away and seems to have little purpose except maybe to show what they know about you and your car(s). Never had another one although car now sold. You can get one online through the DGT site.
I actually used the service when I was looking at a second hand car to check its situation.

Worrying then that everyone I speak to around here hasn't got one and we certainly weren't sent any.

Maybe regional?

Been back to DGT site and as far as I can see the document has only an administrative purpose, in other words does not need to be in the possession of the owner. Main application is checking ownership etc when buying/selling.
Remember the thread was about paying fines and this document helps identify the vehicle as it has a specific code.
Would not lose sleep over not having one.
