Relax!

The OP can spend his/her time counting the money saved, a truly therapeutic past time. Enjoying the warm glow of contentment knowing that the most their property can do is reduce by 16k as a negative and most likely hold and increase its price.

Adopt the local way of life and hit the outdoors thus the local area is more what they have bought into than the flat, from the beach to the squares to the activities around the town.

Perhaps quit the idea of owning and being owned by another property and rent as and when.
The money is still in their pockets creating another nice warm glow and insulating them in the event of a cold snap, financial or otherwise

I don't know if it's relaxing to be on a busy street and who knows how loud the apartment is (depends on the OP what relaxing is). The price is also not final until you've actually done a structural survey etc. Sometime banks just put a property up to gain interest and then it's 50K more.
